Welcome to the Southern Berkshire Regional Schools Web site. It is my pleasure to serve as Superintendent of the first Regional District in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts established on January 21, 1953. Over 50 years ago the five towns of Alford, Egremont, Monterey, New Marlborough and Sheffield signed the original agreement in order to be able to provide a greater variety of educational services together than any one of them could do alone. This commitment to quality education services continues today.
Our students attend local, regional, and national competitive events performing admirable. The number of graduates attending post secondary educational institutions is quite high and our drop
out rate is very low. But beyond these items of note, the character of our students is also exceptional. They are friendly, kind, and thoughtful of others and they are great seekers of knowledge.
We are also fortunate to have a teaching and support staff in place to meet the shifting and ever increasing demands of providing up-to-date educational experiences that keep pace with 21Century needs. Through in-service and graduate course involvement, peer support and the use of technology, the staff is constantly working to refresh and update their skills and knowledge.
Thank you for your continued support of public education. We will work to provide the best in service to our community. My telephone number is 229-8778. Please call me if you have any questions.
