HOCKEY

The Mount Everett Hockey team is a cooperative effort between Mount Everett High School and Monument Mountain, Lee, and Lenox High Schools. Students from Mount Everett in grades 8-12 are eligible to play. At the other three schools, students in grades 9-12 are eligible to participate. The varsity hockey team plays a 16-20 game season schedule in winter.

The last ten years have been very productive for the team, which has qualified for the Western Massachusetts post-season tournaments four times in that span, and has also won two Hennessey League Championships (2002-2003 and 2003-2004).

The hockey program stresses the fundamentals of both individual and team play, and fosters cooperation between the schools. The coaching staff consists of head coach Tom Torrico, who is in his seventh year at the helm of the program. He is assisted by Rick Janusz, who has been in that capacity for seven years as well.
