GLOBAL EDUCATION PROGRAM
What is the Global Education Program?
Mount Everett’s Global Education Program engages students in experiential learning by way of travel, exchange, and collaboration. Every year, our goal is to provide an opportunity for each student to be included in an experience that will connect them to students around the world. Providing short-term exchange and travel opportunities gives students a chance to share their cultural heritage, promote global understanding, foster cultural appreciation, and practice leadership through stewardship.
Every facet of Mount Everett’s Global Education Program has the potential to instill a love of learning and traveling. They have opportunities to earn credit while creating life-long memories. Our hope is that all students will be exposed to an experience that will inform and enlighten them.
Student Exchange
International Student Program
We welcome international students to apply for a one-year academic exchange through our F-1 visa program. Enrolled students can enjoy a full course load of academic and elective classes and take part in our early college program. Mount Everett students and community families are encouraged to participate in program offerings and/or apply to become host families.
The World Education Alliance
Through the WEA we participate in symposiums with thematic programs designed and organized through round-table discussions. Recent symposiums include:
a dance mela in India
a music gala in Germany
water conservation in China
and a music and poetry symposium hosted at Mount Everett with a culminating performance at the Mahaiwe Theater in Great Barrington.
Summer Spanish Immersion
Through a partnership with Carlos V language school, students can participate in a two-week immersion program in Seville, Spain. They will participate in language and culture classes and attend field trips around the country.

Educational Travel
International Travel Tours
Mount Everett partners with companies that are experts in creating itineraries that inspire curiosity and spark connections for students. In the past, we have visited Italy, the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador, India, Germany, Canada, Costa Rica, Egypt, France, Hong Kong, China, England, Ireland, and Peru. These trips are open to all students, and our district prioritizes accessibility and affordability.
Field Trips
Mount Everett sponsors various trips to places in the U.S. such as New York City, Boston, Washington D.C., and Orlando. Our faculty and staff are passionate about connecting curriculum to real world experiences and their goal is to give students the opportunity to experience other cultures, and explore their passions for learning and traveling.

My experience at Mount Everett made me comfortable with and increased my desire for travel and forming connections with people from different cultures. My high school experience was marked with travel within the US and abroad. Within the classroom, we learned alongside exchange students, were asked to prepare different ethnic foods, and learned about current events from around the world, which made me excited to meet people from different backgrounds. My experience at SBRSD taught me that, as a global citizen, I have the chance to explore this beautiful planet, but equally as important, I have a responsibility to care for my environment and the community around me wherever I end up.
