Family Math Night was a tremendous success! We welcomed over 150 attendees of all ages and from all three schools. Every family had the opportunity to enjoy engaging math games designed to enhance mathematical comprehension. They also received copies of the games to continue the fun at home. Additionally, students had a blast participating in a school-wide scavenger hunt, searching for math-related concepts. Prizes were awarded to all children who participated. The estimation table was a hit, where children made educated guesses about the number of items in a group or the length of a ribbon. We had several close guesses, and winners were announced this morning. A big thank you to all the families and teachers who contributed to making this event so wonderful!
Today we had a wonderful assembly where we recognized our students who have worked hard in their Early College classes to earn college credits! We also welcomed John Weinstein, Simon's Rock Provost, to the podium to help us honor four Mount Everett teachers who have earned the Early College Pedagogy Teaching Certification through Bard College at Simon's Rock. Congratulations to John Hammill,
Asha VonRuden, Kari Giordano, and Neal Barbieri for this achievement!
Yesterday, Stefanie D'Angelo, Bushnell-Sage Youth Services Manager, visited 6th-grade Research Methods students. She led them through a captivating contour drawing workshop, sparking their curiosity about the library's resources. This visit fostered a connection between the students and their local library, opening their eyes to the world within its walls.
Culinary students are preparing for the upcoming UME Math Night by baking number cookies for younger students to decorate. They are also busy working on completing their Spring Basket orders in time for the weekend.
