The Third Graders learned about life cycles. They had caterpillars and watched them grow and change into butterflies. On a warm October day, they were released to continue their life cycle in nature.

NMC students experimented to learn more about hand-washing with Nurse Lisa St. Pierre. They used glitter "germs," soap, and water to demonstrate the effectiveness of soap in washing "germs" off hands.

The session will be held in the Black Box Theatre located in the Daniel Arts Center at Bard College. This community engagement session continues the discussion of Early College learning objectives with local business owners, parents, and involved citizens. The Cross Country Team honored captain Charles Vion at the home meet hosted by MT Everett XC team on Wednesday October 12.
Yesterday, both of the NMC school pre-K classes went on an amazing field trip to Tom Brazie’s-The Farm New Marlborough. Tom is a past graduate of our district and a parent of two current NMC students. While at the farm, we learned about cows, pigs and chickens. We went on an hour long tractor ride to collect chicken eggs, and feed the pigs and cows while also learning about the importance of using an intensive rotational grazing model to keep the land fertile and the animals healthy.
The SBRSD Theater Department’s season kicks off next weekend with the musical production “The Lion King: Kids", featuring students in 6th, 5th and 4th grades, as well as introducing to the stage for the first time our 3rd graders!! Show times are 10/21 – 10/22 at 7:00pm and 10/23 at 2pm. Tickets are available at the door
Mount Everett students, alongside students all over Berkshire County, participated in The Berkshire Hexagon Project, led by Ms. Graham. Teachers involved created Indigenous learning opportunities through the concepts of place, storytelling, intergenerational interaction, experience, and interconnectedness. Students then responded with artwork that illustrated their understanding of history and culture, their connection to the land, to each other, or to themselves.
The South Egremont pre-k students visited the South Egremont fire station today to meet the local volunteer firefighters and enjoyed exploring the new truck/meeting Egremont Fire Chief Joe Schneider - also a parent in the district
To extend their understanding of Edith Wharton's Ethan Frome, juniors and seniors in AP English visited Wharton's estate in Lenox. During the visit, students participated in a hands-on tour of SculptureNow and a guided tour of The Mount.

Our Southern Berkshire Youth Soccer teams did a great job at this weekend's Dalton CRA tournament. Boys U14 team came in second in their division after a tough loss to Frontier. Great job to all!
