SBRSD School Committee’s Anti-racism and Anti-bias Resolution As a district we commit to continuing to celebrate diversity and to cultivate equitable and inclusive practices and mindsets for our students, families, faculty, and staff. We will strive to eradicate biased and racist values, structures, and practices. We pledge to: • Ensure we create a welcoming community for ALL students. • Provide to all district staff, as well as School Committee members, ongoing professional development on diversity, equity, and inclusion. • Commit to recruiting and retaining a diverse and culturally responsive workforce. • Examine our policies for institutional and systemic racialized practices and implement change with sustainable policies that are evidence-based. • Incorporate into our curriculum the history of racial oppression, works of black authors and artists, and works from diverse perspectives including women, people from various religions, ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, and any others who have faced forms of oppression in our society. Not remain silent to the issues of racism and hate that continue to plague our public and private institutions.
