Technology

Technology

The Southern Berkshire Regional School District has a long history of technological excellence. The District has been a leader in technology access, boasting a student to computer ratio of 1:1. Students devices include Chromebooks, iPads, and Windows devices. Both students and staff have full access to the best tools of technology available, including Microsoft's Office 365 platform & Google Classroom for hosted email, file storage, and online collaboration.  All district schools have high-speed internet access and full wireless coverage.

Bring Your Own Device

  • High school students may opt to bring their own personal computing device rather than using one issued by the school.

  • These devices are to be used in the same manner as district owned devices according to the guidelines detailed in the student handbook.

Student email runs on Office 365, but school email is also a Google account. Students can share and work collaboratively through OneDrive or Google Drive. Students can also license Office 365 installations on up to 5 personal devices.

Students are to use the GUEST (BYOD) network.

AIRPRINT: For iOS users Airprint is available on several copiers in the building.  When adding  your printer to your laptop, it is best to select Airprint rather than Secure Airprint or the Copier Type.

MOBILITY PRINT:  This Chrome Extension allows your device to find printers on the BYOD network.  It is the best option for Chromebooks:

Mobility Printing

The Southern Berkshire Regional School District is not responsible for the theft, loss, or damage of personal devices. The “Bring-Your-Own-Device” initiative is offered to students as a matter of convenience. It is NOT a requirement for students to own or bring a personal device to school to complete their work.
